The spelling of the third person singular or spelling of verb + -s (ការបង្កើតអោយទៅជាបុរសទីបីឯកវចន:(third person singular)រឺការបង្កើតកិរិយាសព្ទដោយបន្លែមអក្សរ s)

១. The normal rule is to add –s to the base form of the verb( របៀបធម្មតានោះគឺគ្រាន់តែបន្ថែមអក្សរ s ទៅលើទម្រង់ដើមររបស់កិរិយាសព្ទ)
A. Mary wants to expand her knowledge of English.
 -expand កិ ពង្រីក 
B. The Royal Government of Cambodia decides to eliminate corruption in its country. 
-eliminate កិ លុបបំបាត់
-corruption  អំពើរពុលរលួយ
-Royal Government of Cambodia
C. My niece always helps around the house. 
D. Davy is a beautiful girl who drives a Camry. 
E. My best friend speaks English fluently. 
F. Buddhism always contributes to the greatness and prestige of our Angkorian Motherland .
-contribute កិ ផ្តល់វិភាគទាន

G. Buddhism preserves the Cambodian identity, language, literature, culture, morality, traditions, and customs.

 ២. Add -es to verbs that end in –ss, -sh, -ch, -x, and –o. 
(ត្រូវបន្លែម es ទៅលើកិរិយាសព្ទណាដែលអក្សរចុងក្រោយនៃកិរិយាសព្ទនោះបញ្ចប់ដោយអក្សរ–ss, -sh, -ch, -x, –o)
a) Davy kisses her younger brother. 
b) John usually passes his exams, so he’s usually very happy after an exam. 
c) She misses me very much. 
d) My nephew washes his clothes on Sunday. 
e) My English teacher rushes to complete his work. 
f) Sometimes my close friend watches television until 11o’clock. 
g) Rasmey catches the train at 7 a.m. 
h) Normally Helen is tired after work, so she usually just relaxes when she comes home. 
i) Kompheak always fixes my cellphone well. 
j) Vuthy always goes to school on foot. 
k) David does his homework every night. 

 ៣.Verbs that end in a consonant + y change to –ies. ( ចំពោះកិរិយាណាដែលអក្សរពីរខាងក្រោយជា ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ y យើងត្រូវប្តូរអក្សរ y នោះទៅជា អក្សរ ies)
-ចំណាំ ស្រ:ក្នុងភាសាអង់គ្លេសមាន៥គឺ A E I O U (អក្សរ U នេះពេលខ្លះក៏មានសម្លេងជាព្យញ្ជនដែរ . University,Universal )
Example:

. When you are drunk, she usually carries you home. 
-cry (ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 
. Shopheak rarely tries to explain his ideas to her, because she normally doesn’t understand them. 
-try (ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 
. Mary cries because of you every day. I pity her. 
. My niece always tidies up her bedroom. 
-Tidy(ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 
. Cambodian Prime Minister flies to Japan for summit. (newspaper headline) 
-fly(ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 
. Your farther worries about political deadlock. 
-worry(ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 
. Her younger brother tidies all the rooms in this house everyday. 
. The ambulance normally hurries people who are hurt to hospital.
-hurry (ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 
. Our dog buries its bones in the garden.
-bury (ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 
(ព្យញ្ជនជាមួយអក្សរ yនៅខាងក្រោយ) 


៤ Verbs that end in a vowel +y only add –s. (កិរិយាសព្ទដែលអក្សរចុងក្រោយជាស្រ:បួកនិងអក្សរY រូចបន្លែមអក្សរ s )a) Every Saturday David buys a bunch of flowers for his girlfriend. b) My daughter usually buys lunch for $1. c) Your wife usually stays quiet and she always takes care of you. d) The world is changing. Nothing ever stays the same. e) My little son usually plays with his friends in the garden. f) John is not a good man. He often plays tricks on other people. g) My nephew studies English. He enjoys speaking English. h) Your son enjoys himself because he never worries about his examinations. i) My girlfriend always enjoys herself when I welcome her warmly. j) Nary is very stingy shy never pays for anybody. k) She prays for your mercy. She asks you for mercy. l) The priest always prays for dying people. m) Poems always talk about Kbal Chhay waterfall. n) Helen rarely says anything. Don’t scold her, she is just quiet. o) My fiancée usually obeys her parents.
